Organization and Structure of the Research Center for Applied Computer Science
The research center is divided into three special interest groups (SIGs): Dependable IT Infrastructures, Applied Machine Intelligence, Digital Perception and Interaction. The group of Associate Members represents the extended circle of researchers and junior scientists who are affiliated with the research center but do not have voting rights. Each SIG provides one member for the board of directors. The board of directors makes organizational decisions together with the management. The allocation of the center's funds is decided here. The administrative organization and the handling of the daily business is in the hands of the management.
The management of the research center supports the members with applications, with the organization of events and forms the interface between the members, the university and external partners. In addition, public relations is located here. Research infrastructure has also been created to act as an enabler in research. Thus, all members have access to a scalable research infrastructure. This makes it possible to provide members with free, uncomplicated and fast servers for a preliminary study or a new research project.
